Clear IT choices for the long term

Your way of working first

We start with how your business works and where things get stuck, not with a software package. Your processes set the requirements, and we find the software that fits them.
How we help you

The right software, set up around your processes

The right software

We compare packages independently against your own requirements and scenarios. That way you choose software that adapts to your business, rather than a package you have to bend over backwards to work within.

Tailored set-up

We set up the chosen software around your processes and administration, with integrations or custom development where a standard solution falls short.

Grip on what you have

We map your current systems, licences and costs: what works well, what is duplicated and what could be better.

Sound familiar?

An IT environment that grew, rather than one that was designed

Systems that don't talk to each other

Customer data sits in the CRM, orders in the ERP and hours in a spreadsheet. Staff re-enter data and errors lie in wait.

Too many systems and licences

Over the years, one package after another was added. Nobody knows exactly which licences are running, who uses them and whether they are still needed.

IT costs without an overview

Subscriptions, contracts and separate invoices from suppliers. Costs keep rising, but it is hard to say exactly where the money goes.

Dependent on one supplier

Your most important software is in the hands of a single supplier. If prices rise or development stops, you have nowhere to go: vendor lock-in.
Selection

How to choose software that fits your business

We start with your business, not with the software. That way you compare packages on what you really need, not on the slickest sales pitch.

01

Situation and requirements

We map how your processes run and where things get stuck. Together with the future users, we draw up a set of requirements and separate the must-haves from the nice-to-haves.

02

From longlist to shortlist

We explore the market and test packages against your requirements. From a broad longlist, we arrive at a shortlist of solutions that genuinely fit your business.

03

Demos with your own scenarios

Suppliers show how their software handles your day-to-day work, using scenarios from your own business. No standard presentation, but a fair comparison that we assess together.

04

Choice and contract

We compare functionality, costs over several years and the supplier itself. We also review the quote and contract with you: what is included, what is not, and what has been agreed about your data?

05

Preparing the implementation

Once the choice is made, we prepare the implementation: planning, data migration and who does what. We can then take care of the set-up and integrations through IT Integration & Custom Development.

What we examine

Independent and in plain language

An IT environment grows along with the business. A package is added, an integration, another subscription. Each part once had a good reason, but together they rarely form a well-thought-out whole. An IT analysis makes that whole visible.

We talk to the people who work with the systems every day, review contracts and invoices and bring everything together in one overview. As an independent outsider, with no stake in any package or supplier, we say honestly what works well and what could be better. You don't get a technical report, but clear choices in plain language.

What we look at

  • Software and applications per department
  • Integrations and data flows
  • Licences, subscriptions and contracts
  • How staff use and experience the systems
  • Security and back-ups
  • Dependence on suppliers
  • Costs over several years
  • Alignment with strategy and processes

What you get afterwards

Every analysis delivers tangible documents that you and your management team can take forward yourselves.

03.

Questions & answers

Questions about IT advice

Clear answers to questions that may come up during an IT analysis or software selection. Do you have a different question? We are happy to discuss it in a no-obligation introductory call.

No. Our advice is independent, with no vested interest. Aurum is Latin for gold, and that is how we see our advice too: pure and without a hidden agenda. We genuinely look only at what fits your business.

Your IT partner takes care of management and support. We take an independent look at the whole picture: does your IT still fit your strategy and processes, are the costs right, and which choices lie ahead in the coming years? We are happy to work together with your IT partner on this.

No, certainly not. Existing systems can often do more than you think. We first look at what works well and what could be better. We only advise replacing something where it genuinely benefits your business.

That depends on your situation. We set out the pros and cons for you: costs, security, availability, dependence on suppliers and what your processes require. Sometimes moving fully to the cloud is the logical step, sometimes a combination with what you have now.

Yes. We check whether the solution meets your requirements and whether the costs are complete: licences, implementation, maintenance and extensions. We also look at the agreements about your data, term, notice period and support.

That mainly depends on the number of systems and locations, and on the question at hand. A single software choice calls for something different than a full review. After the introductory call, we give you an indication of the effort and lead time. We work on an hourly basis and invoice afterwards, so you pay for the time we actually spend.

It doesn't have to. Once the choice is made, we can also set up the software for you, transfer your data and integrate your systems. If you wish, we also manage suppliers and planning, so the new software lands well in practice too.
